I am one of the Tweeple who started to explore the power of Twitter quite recently. However, it is amazing that still almost all of the people on the social networking site just don’t know the name of the tweeting bird that features as the logo.
Apparently, a rumour circulating the blogosphere claims that the bird’s name is Larry. If we dig into details, Twitter had few months ago posted a tweet that said, “Can you stretch the Twitter bird (Larry)…” The name, if you believe the arguments raised by the writer, originates from the legendary sportsperson Larry T Bird from Boston. Another interesting arguement that strengthens this claim is that Twitters’ co-founder Biz Stone hails from Boston.
But this brings me to the point that I want to question, wasn’t it Shakespeare who said the legendary line: What’s in a name? Yes, remembering Biz Stone, Mark Zuckerberg, and other few jhonies, but who cares what the bird is called? Do you remember who Shera is? In case you don’t, I rest my case. And if you do, I am least interested to test your general knowledge and retention power.
